New NFTs for legendary singer David Bowie will be launched in mid of April, which will include at least one unheard track, Cointelegraph reported.

Gala Music, a subsidiary of the Web3 startup Gala Games, collaborated with Warner Chappell Music and music producer Larry Dvoskin to release 3,003 NFTs on April 14, with an unreleased version of David Bowie’s song called “Let’s Dance” as a part of the limited edition collection of NFTs.

The release of the NFT collection comes to celebrate the 40th anniversary of ‘Let’s Dance.’ Each NFT holder of Bowie’s collection will have exclusive access to listen to the unrevealed version of the song, which was produced with Dvoskin in 2002.

The NFTs will be available for purchase on April 14 on a “pay-what-you-wish” basis and their initial profits from the sales will be allocated to support MusiCares organization, a charity that has provided Millions in health, financial, and rehabilitation resources to music people in times of need.

This is not the first appearance of Bowie in the NFT world. Earlier in September 2022, Bowie’s NFT collection on the OpenSea marketplace was released named “Bowie on the Blockchain” to raise charity funds. However, the NFT collection had drawn criticism as the singer’s supporters believed that his appearance on the NFT and blockchain worlds is contradictory to his principles.

It is not new songs had entered the NFT world. Earlier in February, the producer of Rihanna’s hit song (Bitch better have my money) Jamil Pierre, aka Deputy, cooperated with AnotherBlock, a European crypto start-up, to sell a fraction of his streaming rights as 300 NFTs.

Rihanna’s “Bitch better have my money” is the fifth music NFT release for AnotherBlock. Its first NFT project was released in August 2022. Later, the value of the startup’s music rights catalog grew by 16%. AnotherBlock’s music NFT projects include Acquainted by The Weeknd, Ric Flair Drip by Offset and Metro Boomin, Weekend On A Tuesday by R3hab & Laidback Luke, and Alone PT. II by Alan Walker and Ava Max.
