FIFA’s Recent NFTS Sold in 3 Hours

The FIFA+ Collect Club, a joint venture between FIFA and technology firm Modex, recently released its first NFT drop. The drop included digital “membership cards,” which were priced at $999 each.

The entire allotment of membership cards was sold out within just three hours of release. Modex announced in a press release that VIP cardholders will receive an airdrop on December 26 featuring highlights from the FIFA Club World Cup 2023, which will be held in Saudi Arabia next year.

The statement claims that the airdrop will include two highlights, as well as tickets to the FIFA World Cup 2026 final and FIFA Club World Cup 2025 final, both of which will be held in the United States.

Building on the rapid sellout, Modex announced the launch of a second set of NFTs on the OpenSea marketplace and Polygon (MATIC) network on December 19. The NFTs will represent VIP experiences and physical items from the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup. A total of 900 non-fungible tokens will be available for purchase. The press release did not provide any details on the exact items or benefits associated with each NFT.

The offerings mentioned in the press release include tickets to prestigious FIFA ceremonies and events, autographed memorabilia from the tournament, and limited-edition collectibles such as player-signed corner flags and referee kits. The FIFA initiative is similar to the NBA Top Shot NFT series, which was found to be possibly securities back in February.
