NFT Sales Up in Third Week of January



The NFT sales over the past week witnessed a slight increase compared to the week prior, as they grew by 16.39%, according to Bitcoin News. 

Over the past seven days, the NFT sales amounted to $248.391 million, $197,977 million of which were from the Ethereum blockchain. Out of the top 20 blockchains, Ethereum had the lion’s share of the NFT sales from January 16 to 23, accounting for more than 79% of the sales. 

While Solana came in second place in terms of NFT sales, accounting for over 14% of the total sales ($36.437 million). Blockchains of Cardano, Immutable X and Polygon followed Solana regarding the total sales over the past week, respectively, Bitcoin News quoted data from CryptoSlam. 

The NFT collections which saw high sales over the past week were the Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC), Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), Bored Ape Kennel Club (BAKC), Azuki, Otherdeed, DeGods, and Artblocks, respectively. 

The top-selling NFT collection of MAYC recorded a more than 60% increase in terms of sales, representing around 8% of the $208 million in sales in the past week. 

Cryptopunks had the highest floor value at 66.69 ETH, followed by BAYC, whose floor was just below 66.247 ETH, according to data from nftpricefloor.com.

The most expensive NFT sold over the past week was Bored Ape Yacht Club #4,025, which sold for $613,000, While the second-most selling NFT was Cryptopunk #7,674, which sold for $451,000, followed by Cryptopunk #7,641, which sold for around $418,000 

However, the past week saw an increase in sales for some blockchains, topped by Wax (74.88%) and Polygon (28.29%) and for NFT collections also, like Bored Ape Kennel Club (47.90%) and MAYC (60.07%). 

In the first week of 2023, the NFT sales grew by 26%, compared to the final week of 2022.
