InterContinental Hotels &amp; Resorts, part of IHG Hotels &amp; Resorts’ Luxury &amp; Lifestyle Collection, entered the Web 3.0 world for the first time by launching ten unique non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in cooperation with British contemporary artist Claire Luxton.



Using Luxton&#8217;s natural flora and fauna signature, Each NFT is inspired by the beauty of global travel to showcase InterContinental&#8217;s storied heritage and remote destinations, <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://hotelbusiness.com/intercontinental-hotels-resorts-launches-first-nft-collection/" target="_blank">according to Hotel Business</a>.



The NFTs bring InterContinental&#8217;s key motifs to life as an animation through its virtual art gallery. They include the panther chameleon, a nod to the InterContinental Resort Mauritius on Balaclava Bay, and the blue and yellow macaw, showcasing the first InterContinental hotel in Belém, Brazil.



Possessing one of the 10 NFTs has features, including enjoying InterContinental Ambassador status, which offers exceptional benefits and elevated recognition with Platinum Elite status in the entirely redesigned IHG One Rewards program and a one-night stay at the new InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace, set to be opened in 2023.



Moreover, the NFT features custom artwork from Luxton, whose physical works are valued between $3,000-$5,000 per print. Luxton described her art collaboration with InterContinental as the right partnership, saying the NFT will give the opportunity for people to collect her digital work for the first time and bring new art appreciators to InterContinental.



Meanwhile, Vice President of Global Marketing, Luxury Brands at Intercontinental Hotels Group Tom Rowntree lauded the partnership with Luxton in launching the new digital collection, noting: &#8220;The exclusive collection will see InterContinental Hotels &amp; Resorts connect with both culture and guests in a contemporary way. This collaboration enables a unique experience that encapsulates the forward-thinking approach of InterContinental Hotels &amp; Resorts.&#8221;



Members of IHG One Rewards will enjoy a selection of the NFTs exclusively as they can use their points to bid on five of the NFTs via the IHG One Rewards experiences auction platform. The bidding will close on December 9.
