Chalhoub Group’s web3-native sneaker brand, SOL3MATES, will launch its first NFT collection for sale, dubbed &#8220;SOL3MATES OG NFTs,&#8221; on May 4.



The SOL3MATES OG NFTs collection consists of 10,000 digital collectibles, which will be available for sale for a limited time at a price of 0.03 ETH ($55) for each one. They will be available on the luxury NFT marketplace Exclusible for 48 hours or until the quantity finishes, <a href="https://www.arabnews.com/node/2287526/corporate-news" data-type="URL" data-id="https://www.arabnews.com/node/2287526/corporate-news" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">according to Arab News</a>.



The SOL3MATES OG NFTs owners will enjoy exclusive membership benefits, including early access to future collections, preferred pricing, free merchandise and more. The NFT holders will have the priority for accessing the limited-edition sneaker drop from SOL3MATES “Sirocco 1,” which is designed in cooperation with French designer Kacimi Latamène. The sneakers will be available for pre-order in September and are expected to be delivered by the end of the year.



And of course, NFT holders will enjoy preferred pricing and delivery before the public.



In this regard, Head of Corporate Innovation at Chalhoub Group and Founder of SOL3MATES Nick Vinckier said the goal behind the sneakers is to create something born from the Web3 technology and the launch of the NFTs aims to add value to this community.



&#8220;We are a sneaker brand first, and an NFT project second. We aim to create the sneaker brand of the future, born from web3 technology and mechanics such as gamification, community, and decentralization. The entire customer journey is created in such a way that we merge the best of the virtual and physical experiences. Prominent sports brand Puma announced the launch of its NFT project &#8220;Super Puma&#8221; celebrating its 75th anniversary, according to Geek Metaverse.



The PFP NFTs (“profile image”) NFT project will consist of 10,000 digital collectibles which are inspired by Super PUMA comics, which were popular in the 1970s. The NFTs highlight the brands&#8217; most historic sports moments over the last 70 years. However, their prices and mintage date are still unknown.



The release of the collection comes a year after the German sports brand registered its ENS domain, Puma.eth, to enhance its footprints in the Web 3.0 world. Puma anticipates that its fans would use the NFTs as profile pictures for their social media platforms.



In this regard, PUMA Chief Brand Officer Adam Petrick attributed the launch of these NFTs to his company&#8217;s increasing Web3 community, saying it had played a major role in this move.



In a press release, Petrick noted: &#8220;Puma’s growing Web3 community played an important role in the launch of this new project. We listened to what our community wanted, and the Super PUMA PFP NFT is the result of that. It’s a great project to kick off our 75th anniversary as an expression of our brand mantra – Forever Faster – leaning on our history and heritage to push sport and culture forward through design and innovation.&#8221;



As many as 4,000 NFTs will be publicly sold, while 2,000 NFTs will be sold at 10KTF, an online store in the virtual city of &#8220;New Tokyo.&#8221; The remaining 4,000 NFTs will be given free of charge to the holders of NFTs of the Puma Nitro Collection that includes NFTs as digital twins of the physical NFRNO and Fastroid sneakers.



In September 2022, Puma entered the metaverse world, named Black Station, for its FUTROGRADE show at New York Fashion Week.

The English Premier League signed a multi-year deal with the French blockchain-based fantasy game Soare,<a href="https://beincrypto.com/french-nft-platform-raises-game-signs-premier-league/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> according to Bein Crypto</a>.



Under this agreement, Sorare will integrate the licensed non-fungible tokens (NFTs) of the English Premier League, which comprises 20 clubs, into its gaming player characters. Through the four-year agreement, players of Sorare will enjoy buying and using official Premier League-licensed NFTs.



According to Sorare, two new features will be launched in its game, including the ability to compete with league-specific player cards and a “financial fair play” feature that prevents users from selecting all-star teams.



This new agreement with the Premier League is an important step for Sorare, which will help the company reach new heights in the world of fantasy sports and blockchain.



In this regard, Nicolas Julia, the co-founder of Sorare, tweeted: &#8220;As a football fan myself, this partnership is something I’ve dreamt of since we founded the business.&#8221;



Julia added that the total exchanges of cards on Sorare have doubled from $270 million in 2021 to $500 million in 2022, pointing out that around 87% of the platform&#8217;s players don’t even spend money on the platform.



The platform has already teamed up with other sports leagues such as NBA, MLB, La Liga, Bundesliga, and Serie A. Apart from the sports league, in addition to partnerships with 300+ soccer teams. Sorare, valued at $4.3 billion in September 2021, had raised $680 million during a Series B round in 2021.

Sorare Inks Multi-year Deal with Premier League

After claiming the title of the World Cup 2022, the Argentine Football Association (AFA) secured a footprint in the virtual space after signing a licensing agreement with Upland to join the metaverse.

Under the deal, Upland will help the owners of these NFTs to set up their businesses by reselling their digital collectibles at user-owned and operated shops located on virtual properties. This will make the Upland metaverse a digital environment for creating digital assets and digital land ownership as a virtual economy.



In a press release, the Silicon Valley-based firm said: &#8220;Upland is pleased to bring The Argentine Football Association (AFA) to the Metaverse. We’re excited to expand the realm of Football Legits so that fans, collectors and players from across the globe will soon have gamified football digital collectibles that include your favorite teams, clubs, players, tickets, and in-game video footage.&#8221;



Upland&#8217;s agreement with the Argentinian association follows its deals with the FC Porto football team of Portugal and FIFA. The latter agreement with FIFA allowed football fans around the world to collect, own, and trade NFTs of legendary video highlights from the World Cup games, a deal that makes the fans grasp the functions of metaverse and Web 3.0.



All 32 World Cup teams had digital country crests, shirts, boots, posters, logos, and team mascots featured in Upland. Through Upland metaverse, fans bought virtual buildings decorated with flags of their favorite teams.

PlayStation thinks about integrating NFTs in its games, according to a newly-published patent from Sony.



Named &#8220;Tracking Unique In-Game Digital Assets Using Tokens on a Distributed Ledger&#8221;, the patent, originally filed in May last year and published this week, shows Sony&#8217;s consideration of exploring digital assets on its very popular PlayStation platform.



According to the patent, Sony revealed its possibility of using blockchain technology to monitor the creation, distribution, and authenticity of in-game digital assets.



Sony wants to develop a system or method to track digital assets associated with video games. The system is supposed to allow gamers to buy, transfer and trade these assets, in addition to using them in other games.



The digital assets would be likely in form of NFTs and could be in-game characters or items. &#8220;The digital assets may be video game digital media assets representing moments of gameplay of a video game, such as video clips or images,&#8221; the patent read.



In May this year, Sony partnered with Theta Labs, the creators of Theta blockchain, to launch 3D NFTs for Sony&#8217;s Spatial Reality Display in a move to consolidate NFTs and metaverse concepts. Sony is not the first company that thinks about NFTs, Square Enix said recently it is going for an NFT project of its own.

FIFA and Upland, a metaverse gaming platform, inked a multi-year partnership, which will officially start with the World Cup Qatar 2022 later this month.



The first-of-its-kind partnership will let football fans around the world collect, own, and trade NFTs of legendary video highlights from upcoming World Cup games, a deal that makes the fans grasp the functions of metaverse and Web 3.0.

The Bahrain Football Association signed a partnership agreement with Zamzam, the first Arab Sharia-compliant cryptocurrency, on launching the first non-fungible tokens collection, set to be allocated for the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League.



The first-of-its-kind agreement in the Middle East was signed by President of the Bahrain Football Association Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and Hamed Fakhro, ZamZam&#8217;s founder and CEO.



Under this deal, the first NFT collection for an Arab football league will be launched in addition to setting up an NFT collection for the Bahraini teams participating in the league.



According to the agreement, Zamzam will present NFT prizes during the league&#8217;s matches, including the best player of the round or best goalkeeper of the round award. These awards will be handed over to the players as NFTs.

Sheikh Ali pointed out that the agreement would give momentum to the Nasser bin Hamad Premier League and encourage the Bahrainis to come back to the stadiums to support their beloved teams and get NFT prizes, which will be announced soon.



&#8220;Our main goal is to increase the attendance rates for the matches in the league and improve the level of the Bahraini league in general,&#8221; he concluded.



The new project comes as a part of a series of distinguished projects launched by Bahrain in the metaverse world, including the expected launch of the Middle East’s first sports NFT collection in Bahrain related to combat.



Zamzam coin, the first Arab Sharia-compliant cryptocurrency, was created in November of last 2021. The Zamzam coin market for NFTs is also the first Arab-Islamic market dedicated to Islamic NFTs around the world, which was launched in May 2022.
